  • Plug in the range extender into an electrical outlet by placing it closer to the router. You can relocate it later. Once the range extender is plugged in, the LED will start blinking in green colour for a minute at least.
  • Now, wait for the LED to blink amber finally and then proceed further.
  • Be ready to extend the 2.4GHz network. Press the WPS button on the router and on the range extender. The WPS button will glow up and the extender light will blink green.
  • To verify if the connection, made was successful, watch the indicator LED in front. If it lights solid green, this means the connection made is successful but, if it turns amber this means that the connection is failed.
  • Now, extend the 5GHz network. You can leave this step if your router does not support the 5GHz network. Hit the WPS button present on the side of your router again and then press the same on the extender. Verify the connection made by checking the lights.
  • Finally, move the range extender to an optimal location from the router for better working and connection. Check the indicator LED for the connection quality. Solid green indicates that it is ready to use. Solid amber indicates it has a weak connection to the router. Blinking amber signifies that it is not connected to the router.
  • Connect the devices to the extended network recently created.

  • Plugin the range extender.

  • Wait for the blinking LED to switch from green to amber.
  • Use an ethernet cable to connect the range extender and the LAN port of the router.
  • Establish a connection with the Linksys extender setup network.
  • To finally start the setup process, enter the web address extender.linksys.com in the address bar or fill in the default IP address. You will have to fill in the details for your login and then you will be directed to the web-based setup page.
  • You can connect your wifi devices with the extended network just created.

The Linksys RE7000 extender may have various issues like interrupted connections while its usage or when the web-based setup page of the extender is not accessible. The reset of the extender to the factory default settings will erase all the personalised settings which you made once.
